The one and only Sydney music venue with three floors, multiple rooms and millions of stories. Proudly independent; loudly The World Bar.

For the past 18 years, The World Bar has been a Sydney nightclub and live music institution, throwing epic parties and hosting globe-trotting musicians. Thriving and surviving as the last independent venue in the party capital of Kings Cross, we are an LGBTI inclusive space and are open every night to people from all walks of life.

Starting life as a bordello, gambling den and office headquarters of INXS, this building has always been a place where adventurous souls have gone for a good time. Every night of the week the World Bar is open with live music, DJ sets and our world famous teapots ready for you to turn it up.

By Train: Get to Kings Cross station in five minutes by changing at Central, Town Hall or directly from Bondi Junction. When you exit the station you’re only two minutes away. Turn right on Darlinghurst road and take your first left at Bayswater road and walk until you can see the sign, hear the tunes and taste the coldies.

By Bus: Buses come and go on Bayswater road throughout the day and night although with such a short walk between the World Bar and Kings Cross station, we’d say trains are the best way to go.

Driving: If driving in Sydney doesn’t frighten you anymore than being the designated driver does, you can park in the parking station opposite us on Bayswater road or get in early for street parking which will become incredibly scarce on weekend nights. Also, don’t drink and drive.

Uber: They’ll know where to take you.
